What was your first library?
“Middlesex Community College Library in Lowell, MA – I was a library assistant and worked the circulation desk.”
Who are your top five favorite authors?
“J.D. Salinger, Franz Kafka, Jack Kerouac, Lemony Snicket, and David Sedaris”
What are your three “desert island” books?
“Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
Kafka: The Complete Stories by Franz Kafka”
What is the last book that made you laugh or cry or both?
“Believe Like a Child by Paige Dearth -I’ve never cried so much while reading in my life!”
If you could time travel, when and where would you go?
“I’m not sure where/when I’d like to travel to, but I do know right away where I wouldn’t want go- Ba Sing Se (from Avatar the Last Airbender). Fictional places count, right?”
What is your favorite room in Ohrstrom Library?
“The record player nook in the afternoon. It’s so sunny!”
What was your favorite subject/class in school?
“History of the Book taught by scholar Sidney Berger while in library school at Simmons.”
Why do you like being a librarian at SPS?
“I love how engaged all of the students are! I’m so impressed with their willingness to participate in class. I also like the tight-knit community and just how friendly everyone is. It’s wonderful to see so many welcoming faces around campus.”
