Meet Your Librarians! (April Fool’s Day Edition)

We have introduced you to many of the excellent librarians at Ohrstrom Library. But we seem to have overlooked a very important staff member, so this month, we are talking with Ms. Lilly Parsi, seen here overseeing the archives. Ms. Lilly has been the feline assistant to the SPS Archivist since October 2020.  Having a job has been challenging for her because it interferes with nap time, but she is getting the hang of it now!  In her spare time, she likes to read with her human, take naps, play with her string, and pester everyone for one more treat.

We asked Ms. Lilly…

What is your favorite room in Ohrstrom Library?

“I really love the Baker Book Room.  Those large windows are the perfect place to nap on a sunny afternoon.”

What is on your nightstand right now?

“I have been reading Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats.  The poetry in it really speaks to me.”

What are your three desert island books?

“Desert island?  Will there be treats there?  I guess I would say Pet Sematary, Dewey: the Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World, and anything about Pete the Cat. I don’t have much of an attention span, so these books should last until my humans rescue me off the island.”

What book should be turned into a movie?

“Definitely The Three Little Kittens.  I mean, they have lost their mittens – will they get them back?  It would be a very suspenseful movie!”

Why do you like helping the archivist at St. Paul’s School?

“Well, I don’t so much help as supervise. I am a very good supervisor, so I make sure the Archivist is preserving all of the school history.”

Happy April Fool’s Day!  As much as we would like to have Ms. Lilly on staff, she would be too much of a distraction!  Instead, you can take a look at this very real list of cool cat books available at Ohrstrom!
