November is Native American Heritage Month! At Ohrstrom Library, you can find books celebrating Indigenous peoples contributions to culture, history, science, literature, and the arts. This month, look for our Indigenous authors display in Baker Reading Room or wander downstairs to see Ms. Yarborough’s display about Indigenous Fashion. The very first U.S. Native Fashion Week was held this year in Santa Fe, NM, featuring collections from seventeen Indigenous designers. Watch this PBS story, “Groundbreaking Fashion Show Spotlights Work of Indigenous Designers“, and then come see the beautiful fashion books on display. Looking for more inspiration? Check out our recommendations below for authors and stories to help you celebrate Indigenous heritage all month long.
