The long summer day’s have Ms. Maxwell, our Program Coordinator, dreaming of summer reading:
“Almost all of my most memorable reading experiences take place in summer, likely because that is the time when I somehow find entire days to sink into a book. I really think there’s nothing in the world better than being at a clear lake, alternately reading and swimming all day long.
Below is a list of the books that I have vivid memories of spending entire days reading in summer. The earliest I can recall is The World According to Garp by John Irving, which I read over the course of two days on the beach at my family’s cabin. Those two days were almost thirty years ago now, but I can still remember the feeling of being totally inside of, and entranced by, the world of a story.”
