New Year, New Hobby

posted in: Library Programs | 0

It’s the new year!  This post is for those who want to practice a little self-care by learning something new. Our evening librarian, Ms. Jache, knows a thing or two about hobbies and crafts and she has some words of encouragement for anyone interested:

“In the new year, many people set New Year’s resolutions for themselves. I don’t make resolutions but instead try a new hobby or craft every year. I don’t like them all – my pottery bowls somehow always ended up as plates – but I learned the basics and then could use those skills in other projects or in my daily life.

At the library, we love teaching and fostering new ideas. You may have noticed some of the “Take & Make” crafts in the front lobby this fall. This month, we will have even more crafts and activities planned, including crochet kits, macrame, and friendship bracelets!  So, if you want to try something new, stop into the library and ask about it. I will be more than happy to help you get started. Check out the books below or browse Creativebug for ideas and then let’s have some crafting fun!”
